The promotion committee takes many forms, but the goal is to create a positive image that will renew community pride and tell EGAD’s story to the surrounding area. We communicate the Eau Gallie Arts District’s unique characterisitics, its cultural traditions, architecture, and history and activities to shoppers, investors, artists, potential business and property owners, and visitors. The promotion committee is also instrumental in planning various events that go on in the downtown Eau Gallie area throughout the year.

The economic restructuring committee works to strengthen the Arts District’s economic assets while diversifying its economic base. We do this by evaluating how to retain and expand successful businesses to provide a balanced commercial mix and attracting new businesses that the market can support. The economic restructuring committee achieves success through creative reuse of historic properties; converting unused or underused commercial space into economically productive property also helps boost the profitability of the district. Our goal is to build a commercial district that responds to the needs of today’s consumers while maintaining the community’s historic character.

The design committee works to get the Eau Gallie Arts District in top physical shape and create a safe, inviting environment for shoppers, workers, and visitors, all while preserving the historic character of the area. An appealing atmosphere, created through attention to all of the visual elements, conveys a positive message about the commercial district, enhancing EGAD’s physical appearance through the rehabilitation of historic buildings, encouraging appropriate new construction, developing sensitive design management systems, educating busines and property owners about design quality, and long-term planning.

The organization committee establishes consensus and cooperation by building partners among the various groups that have a stake in the arts district. Our goal is to have everyone working toward the same goal. With this level of collaberation, EGAD! can provide effective, ongoing management and advocacy for the downtown area. Through volunteer recruitment and collaboration with partners representing a broad cross section of the arts district, we incorporate a wide range of perspective into our efforts.
